My sculpture/installation CONNECTIONS explores the idea that as human beings, we are part of one shared world, to embrace unity beyond differences.

The concept comes from the idea that human connection is not confined to a single place. It can be rooted in our own traditions, communities, places and histories, while simultaneously remaining open, expansive and universal. We belong to where we come from, yet we are also unbounded. connected, open-minded to something far greater than ourselves.

The sea saw installation is an interactive piece balancing a globe, becomes both a literal and symbolic bridge. When participants engage with the piece, they must face one another. This simple act naturally encourages eye contact, conversation, laughter, and shared experience. It invites people to reflect and share a common space and experience. The movement of rising and falling creates a moment of suspension of being lifted from the ground, producing a sensation of weightlessness of being everywhere and nowhere at once, unrooted yet connected.

The globe represents the vastness of our shared planet. Resting upon a structure designed for balance and cooperation, it emphasizes interdependence and freedom at the same time: one cannot rise without the other. The work speaks beyond borders, prejudice, race, religion and division. It rejects walls and fixed boundaries, instead offering a space where connection becomes the central force.

Connections reflects the belief that despite our differences, we are interconnected, balanced within the same world, sharing the same ground and suspended within the same universe.
